Les Moucherons

Chamber choir Les Moucherons (literally The Mosquitoes, nickname for the inhabitants of Haarlem) was founded in 1987. Les Moucherons sings early and modern music, from Renaissance to music from the 21st century. Additionally, a goal of the choir is to regularly offer concerts that bring together multiple artistic disciplines and pay attention to use of venue, décor, visuals, direction and presentation. In recent years, besides many a cappella performances, the choir has also given concerts with small instrumental ensembles and soloists. It is also a social and connection-seeking choir. Even in the corona period, we tried to rehearse physically as often as possible when we could. Sometimes we sang digitally together with perseverance and using the handy Jamulus programme.

Since June 2004, conductor Antje de Wit has been the artistic director of Les Moucherons.

Kamerkoor Les Moucherons (letterlijk De Muggen, bijnaam voor de inwoners van Haarlem) werd in 1987 opgericht. Les Moucherons zingt oude en moderne muziek, van Renaissance tot en met muziek uit de 21e eeuw. Bovendien is een doel van het koor om geregeld concerten aan te bieden waarin meerdere kunstdisciplines samen komen en waar aandacht wordt besteed aan gebruik van locatie, inrichting, visuals, regie en presentatie. In de afgelopen jaren heeft het koor, naast veel a-capella-uitvoeringen, ook concerten gegeven met kleine instrumentale ensembles en solisten. Het is ook een sociaal en verbinding-zoekend koor. Zelfs in de corona-periode probeerden we zo vaak mogelijk fysiek te repeteren wanneer het kon. Soms zongen we digitaal samen verder met volharding en m.b.v. het handige Jamulus-programma.

Sinds juni 2004 geeft dirigente Antje de Wit artistieke leiding aan Les Moucherons.
